LEADING INDUSTRY FIGURE APPOINTED CHAIR

CAMBRIDGE, UK:  EDX Medical Group plc, which develops and supplies innovative digital diagnostic products and services to improve the early detection and treatment of major diseases, announces the Company has appointed Professor Michael John Owen, a leading life sciences industry figure, as its non-executive Chairman.

Professor Owen succeeds with immediate effect non-executive chairman Jason Holt who has led the board since the company's inception and is stepping down owing to a need for increasing focus on other Chairman roles and charitable interests.

Professor Owen is a highly experienced R&D executive and non-executive director with a proven track record of global executive leadership. He has a broad knowledge of the Pharma industry and of the finance community that supports life sciences. He is currently an independent member of a number of boards of biotech companies and an adviser to several investment partnerships. Professor Owen has also held senior executive positions, notably as co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Kymab Limited, a biopharmaceutical company, ultimately acquired by Sanofi, as well as several senior leadership positions at GlaxoSmithKline.

Professor Owen commented: "I am delighted to be joining and chairing the board of EDX Medical, a company that has a very clear vision of the future for medical diagnostics - a burgeoning sector at UK, European and global levels. The EDX team has built a hugely impressive portfolio of class-leading tests and services and is well placed to become an exemplar company in the diagnostics arena. I am looking forward to Jason passing me the Chair baton and developing further the excellent work done by him and the Board to date."

Professor Sir Chris Evans, founder of EDX Medical, commented: "We are thrilled to welcome Mike Owen to EDX Medical. He is an outstanding figure in the industry and brings tremendous commercial, scientific and governance experience which will be a great asset to the Company. I would also like express my personal gratitude to Jason for his contribution to the Company as a director and chairman. He joined EDX in its earliest days and put an enormous amount of effort and leadership into developing the Company."

Jason Holt commented: "I am very proud of what the Company has achieved in a short space of time, moving rapidly from a start-up to an AIM-listed public company with a very admirable diagnostics portfolio. We have made an excellent choice of new chairman. I am pleased to be stepping down to make way for Mike. It affords me more time for my other Chairmanships at a critical time where growth in these strategic organisations intersects with the national economy. I wish the EDX team under Mike's Chairmanship all the very best as the Company moves forward."
