UK corporate updates on Monday highlighted upgrade-driven optimism balanced by localized headwinds, as Computacenter and Plus500 both raised their full-year guidance following robust third-quarter performances, while Airtel Mobile Commerce delivered strong maiden half-year results with an 18.7% rise in active users. Healthcare and strategy deals also generated positive momentum, anchored by GSK’s high-response trial data for Jemperli, Avacta’s promising cancer drug progression, Man Group securing an expanded $1.25 billion private credit partnership with Meiji Yasuda, and Foresight Environmental realizing £104 million from an asset sale. Conversely, challenges hit the property and investment sectors, where Safestay warned of constrained winter cash flows after a weak summer, Literacy Capital’s net asset value fell 4.7% due to a major write-down, and CLS Holdings announced its upcoming exit from the UK REIT regime due to tax compliance shifts.
Technology sourcing provider Computacenter CCC reported third-quarter trading ahead of management expectations following an excellent performance in North America and the UK. Strong demand from hyperscale and neocloud customers boosted Technology Sourcing revenue, while Professional Services growth offset lower Managed Services income. Consequently, management raised full-year 2026 profit guidance, following earlier upgrades made at the half-year results in September.
Fintech group Plus500 PLUS reported strong trading in the third quarter of 2026, driving full-year revenue and EBITDA expectations ahead of current market consensus. Operational progress across non-OTC business channels and B2B partnerships contributed to customer growth, with customer segregated funds reaching a record of over $1bn at the end of the period. The platform also continued its geographic expansion with targeted acquisitions in the US and Brazil.
Hostel operator Safestay SSTY cautioned that year-to-date trading has failed to meet board expectations following softer summer occupancy. While recent operational initiatives under its new Chief Operating Officer have provided some revenue recovery, cash flow remains tight ahead of the seasonally slower winter period. The board is evaluating working capital management measures and relying on proceeds from property disposals to maintain liquidity into 2027.
Investment trust Literacy Capital BOOK recorded a 4.7% drop in net asset value per share to 450.5p for the third quarter ended 30 September 2026. The decline was caused by a £22.4m write-down on portfolio company Cubo Work following its disposal, offsetting valuation gains in holdings such as Red Sky and TechPoint. Separately, the company announced an update to its capital allocation policy to address the persistent discount between its share price and underlying NAV.
NHS-funded surgical care provider One Health Group OHGR generated H1 FY27 revenue of £18.3m, up 17% year-on-year, keeping trading in line with management expectations. New NHS patient referrals and total consultations both expanded by 24%, helping push expected underlying EBITDA above the £1.18m achieved in H1 FY26. Operational expansion continued with additional surgical facilities and outreach clinics to meet patient choice demand.
Alternative asset manager Man Group EMG reached an agreement to expand its strategic partnership with Japanese insurer Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company. Meiji Yasuda plans to commit up to JPY 200bn ($1.25bn) over three years to Man Group strategies, focusing primarily on private credit capabilities. As part of the deepened relationship, Meiji Yasuda is also considering acquiring a 5% equity stake in Man Group to align commercial interests.
Infrastructure investor Foresight Environmental Infrastructure disposed of its remaining 49% holding in six UK anaerobic digestion assets to Future Biogas for £104m. The sale price represents a 7.5% premium to the asset portfolio's June 2026 carrying value and achieved a 12.9% internal rate of return. Capital raised from the divestment will be directed toward paying down drawings under the company's revolving credit facility.
Commercial property company CLS Holdings CLI announced its expected departure from the UK REIT regime with effect from 31 December 2026. The transition follows recent shifts in share ownership that breached legislative rules prohibiting REITs from being classified as close companies. Starting 1 January 2027, the group will lose its tax exemption on UK property income and capital gains, though management confirmed property strategy and operations will remain unchanged.
Pharmaceutical major GSK GSK disclosed positive Phase II trial data for Jemperli monotherapy in patients with mismatch repair deficient locally advanced rectal cancer. Results showed 76% of patients achieved a complete response with no evidence of disease following treatment alone, with zero recurrences reported after a median follow-up of over two years.
African digital finance provider Airtel Mobile Commerce issued its first half-year results as a listed company, reporting an 18.7% growth in active customers to 56.7m. Annualized transaction value processed during the second quarter reached $270bn, supported by mobile app user adoption and network expansion to 2.4m active agents. Management declared an interim dividend of 6.4 US cents per share and reaffirmed full-year financial guidance.
Life sciences business Avacta Group AVCT presented updated clinical trial data evaluating faridoxorubicin in patients with salivary gland cancer. The Phase 1a/1b study recorded a median progression-free survival of 11.4 months, representing nearly double the historical benchmark range of 6 to 6.7 months. FAPI-PET imaging confirmed sustained target activity across multiple treatment cycles alongside meaningful tumor reduction in the patient cohort.
