Baron Lambert has notified the Company that on 16 March 2006 he acquired a non
beneficial interest in £1 ordinary shares of RIT Capital Partners plc (RITCP),
amounting to 1,500 shares. These shares were bought in the market at a price of
1001p per share and are held in a trust which Baron Lambert advises. Following
this purchase, Baron Lambert's interest in RITCP shares comprise the following:


2,000 shares held beneficially (0.001% of share class in issue); and

4,857 held in a non beneficial capacity (0.003% of share class in issue)
