Share repurchase announcement

RIT Capital Partners plc (the 'Company') announces the following information relating to a share repurchase, pursuant to Listing Rule 12.4.6R and Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.5.1R:

1. Date of purchase: 11 March 2009

2. No. of equity shares purchased: 1,520

3. Purchase Price: 76 0 p per ordinary share

4a. No. of equity shares purchased

for cancellation 1 , 52 0

4b. No. of equity shares purchased

to be held as treasury shares: NIL

The above purchase was made in accordance with the shareholders' authority granted at the Company's Annual General Meeting held on 17 July 2008 .

The Company does not hold any of its own shares in treasury.

The issued share capital of the Company following the cancellation of the shares purchased will comprise 154, 49 1 , 06 2 ordinary shares of £1 each.
