Kier secures new Construction contracts worth £247m
Kier Group plc ("Kier"), the leading property, residential, construction and services group, today announces the following contract updates in its Construction division.
Kier has been awarded three new contracts under the ProCure 21+ framework. The contracts include:
· Preferred bidder for a £160m contract to design and build a new critical treatment hospital for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The new 45,000 sq m campus within the borough of Basingstoke and Deane will include a new cancer treatment centre and critical pathology laboratories, with work planned to start on site in April 2016.
· A £25m contract to upgrade three hospitals in Boston, Grantham and Lincoln for United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT), as part of the Trust's strategy to modernise hospitals in the region, thereby supporting new models of clinical practice. Work has started on site and is expected to complete by March 2016.
· A contract totalling approximately £22m to reconfigure and refurbish Dewsbury and District Hospital for the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust (MYHT) allowing the hospital to bring together all the services it currently provides into the existing Ridings building and Service Centre.
In addition, Kier has been appointed by two NHS Trusts as Principal Supply Chain Partner through the ProCure 21+ framework. These include:
· The Wye Valley NHS Trust (WVT) to deliver a £40m programme of reconfiguration works at Hereford County Hospital. The partnership will support the Trust's clinical services strategy by increasing capacity at the hospital.
· The Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to deliver the Trust's future estates strategy. The first phase of this programme of works is the delivery of a new Children's, Young People & Families' project providing adolescent in-patient beds, a psychiatric intensive care unit and an in-patient perinatal unit.
Haydn Mursell, chief executive of Kier, said: "Kier's work under the ProCure 21+ framework has extended our position as one of the UK's leading building providers to the healthcare sector. These awards highlight the breadth of services we are able to offer our clients, and confirm our progress with our Vision 2020 strategy."
