Dadex Launch
World's First d2p treated Water Pipes
Symphony Environmental Technologies Plc (AIM: SYM); global specialist in 'making plastic smarter' is pleased to announce the launch with Dadex Eternit Ltd ("Dadex") in Pakistan of a wide range of plastic pipes incorporating Symphony's d2p antimicrobial technology.
The launch took place today in Karachi in the presence of trade and general media and marks the conclusion of a two year program of scientific testing and technical trials, and the signing of a five year exclusive agreement between Dadex and Symphony's Pakistan distributor, Business Dynamics, for the supply of d2p.
Dadex is exclusively using Symphony's "d2p," technology (which means "designed to protect"), in their antimicrobial products, and a dedicated joint sales team has been formed with Business Dynamics to introduce the new d2p pipes to existing customers as well as new ones. The d2p technology is designed to ensure that the pipes will be free from harmful bacteria and fungi.
Dadex is a public company, established 57 years ago and listed on the Stock Exchange in Pakistan. It is based in Karachi and has three manufacturing facilities and 11 offices nationwide.
Michael Laurier, CEO of Symphony, said: "We are delighted to be associated with Dadex on their initiatives to improve their plastic pipe products with the incorporation of our d2p additive technology. We are also excited to be involved with helping to create this important improvement to an everyday product. The weeks ahead will involve an active supporting role for Business Dynamics and Symphony as the new range of anti-microbial pipes are introduced to the market."
Dadex CEO Qazi Sajid Ali said "We have made our reputation over the past 57 years by identifying and developing innovative technology for the benefit of our customers and the people of Pakistan. Today is the latest milestone in that journey, and we are pleased with the expert cooperation we have received from Symphony and Business Dynamics."

NOTES TO EDITORS:
About Symphony Environmental Technologies plc
Symphony has developed a range of additives, concentrates and master-batches marketed as d2p, which can be incorporated in a wide variety of plastic and non-plastic products and applications, so as to give them protection against many different types of bacteria, fungi, algae, moulds, insects and fire.
In addition, Symphony has already developed and continues to develop, controlled-life plastic technology which turns ordinary plastic at the end of its service-life into biodegradable materials. It is then no longer a plastic and can be bioassimilated in the open environment in the same way as a leaf. The technology is branded d2w® and appears as a droplet logo on many thousands of tonnes of plastic packaging and other plastic products around the world. In some countries oxo-biodegradable plastic is mandatory. For a video of d2w® plastic degrading see http://degradable.net/play-videos/4.
Symphony has also developed the d2Detector®, a portable device which analyses plastics and detects counterfeit products. Symphony's d2t tagging and tracer technology is also available for further security. See www.d2t.net
Symphony has a diverse and growing customer-base and has established itself as an international business with 74 distributors around the world. Products made with Symphony's plastic technologies are now available in 97countries and in many different product applications. Symphony is certified to ISO9001 and ISO14001.
Symphony is a member of The Oxo-biodegradable Plastics Association (www.biodeg.org) (OPA), the Society for the Chemical Industry (UK), and the Pacific Basin Environmental Council. Symphony actively participates in the Committee work of the British Standards Institute (BSI), the American Standards Organisation (ASTM), the European Standards Organisation (CEN), and the International Standards Organisation (ISO).
