Frontier Developments plc
Announces Jurassic World EvolutionTM game on PC, PS4 and Xbox One for summer 2018
Further to its announcement on 6 February 2017, Frontier Developments plc (AIM: FDEV, "Frontier"), a leading independent creator and publisher of video games, has revealed its new game; Jurassic World Evolution. Launching in summer 2018, Jurassic World Evolution will be coming to PC, the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and the Xbox One all-in-one games and entertainment system.
In 2015, Universal Pictures' Jurassic World became one of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history, grossing more than $1.67 billion at the global box office on its way to becoming the third-highest-grossing film of all time.
Based on Universal Pictures' iconic film franchise and created in collaboration with Universal Brand Development, Jurassic World Evolution expands on the official Jurassic World mythology and puts players in charge of cinema's greatest tourist destination - where they will have the opportunity to create and manage their own Jurassic World. Every choice leads to a different path, and spectacular challenges arise when 'life finds a way'.
Jurassic World Evolution will launch in the year of the 25th anniversary of the original Jurassic Park film. The next chapter of the film franchise Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be in theatres June 2018.
Jurassic World Evolution will be Frontier's third major self-published game franchise and builds on the success of Elite Dangerous (2014) and Planet Coaster (2016).
Jonny Watts, Chief Creative Officer of Frontier, said:
"As long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series we're thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World. We're excited to bring over fifteen years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us."
David Braben, Chief Executive Officer of Frontier, said:
"Jurassic World Evolution is a continuation of Frontier's strategy of creating self-published franchises that build on our world-class expertise to deliver high quality, sophisticated gameplay experiences. It will be our first self-published title to debut on PC, PlayStation and Xbox simultaneously, and the first to benefit from such a major marketing event as the theatrical release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom."
