Semefab has confirmed that it has the microfabrication know-how to be able to manufacture Stereax^â cells on an economic basis in quantities suitable for market introduction of products. Semefab has also confirmed that the Ilika process is technically compatible with its facility in Fife, Scotland.

Allan James, Semefab MD, stated: "We believe there is a substantial market opportunity for thin-film microfabricated batteries, which is well-aligned with our current business."

Graeme Purdy, Ilika CEO added: "We are delighted to be working with Semefab, which has a long history of manufacturing MEMS and IC products.
