New CEO appointed

Panthera Resources plc (AIM: PAT), the gold exploration and development company with assets in India and West Africa, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Bolton as Managing Director effective 1^st April 2020.

This appointment follows an almost year-long international search by the board for a candidate with the necessary skills and drive to optimise Panthera's unique mix of exceptional assets for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Mike Higgins, Panthera's Chairman commented "We are extremely pleased to be able to attract to Panthera, a candidate of Mark 's obvious capabilities.  Mark brings demonstrated analytical, strategic and business development capabilities with highly relevant international experience, in addition to an impressive record of team-building in diverse corporate and cultural settings.  Importantly, his many years of experience in MD, CEO, CFO and COO roles have allowed him to prove himself in countries with complex and difficult bureaucratic, political and business regimes such as India and the African jurisdictions where Panthera operates.

On behalf of the entire Panthera board of directors and team, I extend our sincere gratitude and thanks to Geoff for his role in steering the company through some important milestones in often challenging business environments.  Most notably these have included the AIM-listing in December 2017 and accompanying financings, as well as the further financing of the Indian business through partnering with a group that brings not only direct access to Indian capital, but also considerable operational experience in the mining sector in India."

About Mark

Mark joins Panthera from his role as CFO of Oilex Ltd, a Perth-based, AIM-listed oil and gas producer where he has played a key role in resolving a number of complex legacy issues including a long standing dispute with its joint venture partner, an Indian state-owned company.  Prior to joining Oilex, Mark held executive roles at La Mancha Australia and First Quantum Minerals Ltd where he aided in the management and financing of several new project development opportunities, including in many challenging jurisdictions.  Mark commenced his career at Ernst & Young, stepping down as Director in Ernst & Young's Corporate Finance business.

Mark has considerable experience in the development and financing of new minerals projects, particularly in emerging economies.  He has held senior executive roles in many companies listed on the AIM, ASX, LSE and TSX.
