PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Schroder Japan Growth Fund plc (the "Company") announces that on 4 January 2021 it purchased 60,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 198.00 pence per share, to be cancelled.

Following this purchase, the Company's issued share capital consists of 123,494,822 ordinary shares of 10p each, and the total number of voting rights in the Company is 123,494,822.

The above figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
