Proposed demerger of South Africa thermal coal operations - Thungela Resources Limited abridged pre-listing statement (PLS)

Further to the announcement made by Anglo American plc regarding the proposed demerger of Thungela Resources Limited ("Thungela") from Anglo American plc ("Anglo American"), the abridged pre-listing statement in relation to the proposed primary listing of Thungela's shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (the "JSE") and standard listing on the London Stock Exchange has been approved by both the JSE and the UK Financial Conduct Authority and has been published by Thungela.

The abridged pre-listing statement is now available on Thungela's website (www.thungela.com). It will also shortly be available for inspection on the UK National Storage Mechanism (https://data.fca.org.uk/#/nsm/nationalstoragemechanism).
