Merger Clearance:

The CMA has decided, on the information currently available to it, not to refer the following merger to a Phase 2 investigation under the provisions of the Enterprise Act 2002.

Title of Merger case: the anticipated acquisition by the consortium between Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (Europe) Limited and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation of a 60% shareholding in the gas transmission and gas metering business of National Grid plc.

The text of this decision will be placed on the Competition and Markets Authority's website at https://www.gov.uk/cma-cases in due course.
