Merger Update: Eville & Jones/Vorenta

Announcement of publication of the text of the CMA's decisions

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has published the text of its decision under section 22(1) of the Enterprise Act 2002 (the Act) that it is or may be the case that the completed acquisition of Eville & Jones (Group) Limited (E&J) of Vorenta Ltd constitutes a relevant merger situation that has resulted or may be expected to result in a substantial lessening of competition within a number of markets in the United Kingdom for goods or services, which was announced on 6 March 2023. The CMA has also published the text of its decision that it considers that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the undertakings in lieu of a reference offered by E&J, or a modified version of them, might be accepted by the CMA under section 73(2) of the Act and that the CMA is considering E&J's offer, which was announced on 20 March 2023.
