Acceptance of Undertakings in lieu: Pennon Group Plc / Sumisho Osaka Gas Water UK merger inquiry

The CMA has today accepted undertakings in lieu of reference to an in-depth, Phase 2 investigation given by Pennon Group Plc (Pennon) under section 33D of the Water Industry Act 1991. The completed acquisition by Pennon of Sutton and East Surrey Group Holdings Limited will therefore not be referred to an in-depth, Phase 2 investigation and the undertakings which have been signed by Pennon will come into effect from this date.
