Merger Update: Synopsys/ANSYS

Acceptance of Undertakings in lieu: Anticipated Acquisition by Synopsys, Inc. of ANSYS, Inc.

The CMA has today accepted undertakings in lieu of reference to an in-depth, Phase 2 investigation given by Synopsys, Inc. and ANSYS, Inc. under section 73 of the Enterprise Act 2002. The anticipated acquisition by Synopsys, Inc. of ANSYS, Inc. will therefore not be referred to an in-depth, Phase 2 investigation and the undertakings which have been signed by Synopsys, Inc. and ANSYS, Inc. will come into effect from this date.

The text of this decision will be placed on the dedicated case page on the Competition and Markets Authority's website as soon as is reasonably practical.
