In this special episode of the Sharesify podcast, Steven and James welcome Isaac Thong, manager of the Aberdeen Asian Income Fund (AAIF). This high-yielding investment trust targets consistent income and capital growth by investing in some of Asia’s most successful and promising companies. Our special guest explains why investors should look to Asia for income and how dividend culture has evolved across this vast region. Next up, Isaac tells our audience that valuations across the fund’s universe of high-quality companies remain extremely attractive. He also highlights some of the long-term structural growth themes the trust offers exposure to. In recent periods, the fund’s semiconductor and hardware holdings across Taiwan and South Korea have delivered spectacular gains. Isaac tells Steven and James about the other sectors the managers have been rotating money into, including financials and industrials. He also explains why AIC Dividend Hero status is important to the board, and why the trust is strongly positioned to continue increasing the shareholder reward long into the future.
