On 26 October 2026, CLS Holdings plc announced its expected exit from the UK Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) regime, effective 31 December 2026. The exit follows recent share ownership changes that caused the company to become a "close company," failing to meet REIT legislative conditions. As a result, beginning 1 January 2027, the group's UK rental profits and property sales will no longer be tax-exempt and will be taxed at the standard UK corporation tax rate.
