First hydrogen from Lingen reaches customer

ITM Power plc is pleased to announce a major milestone for the GET H2 Nukleus hydrogen project: the successful production and delivery of initial quantities of green hydrogen from RWE's electrolysis plant in Lingen, Germany. In total, ITM Power and Linde Engineering are delivering two 100 MW plants to RWE in Lingen.

As part of the ongoing commissioning process, green hydrogen has been successfully produced and transported via approximately 120 km of hydrogen pipeline infrastructure for usage at Evonik's chemical park in Marl. This demonstrates the integration of large-scale hydrogen production, transport and industrial offtake, marking one of the first operational hydrogen value chains in Europe.

Dennis Schulz, CEO of ITM Power, said: "This is a landmark achievement for the hydrogen industry and a proud moment for ITM Power. We are delighted to see our technology operating at unprecedented scale, helping to power one of Europe's first integrated hydrogen value chains.

The project demonstrates the maturity of large-scale PEM electrolysis. We congratulate all project partners on reaching this important milestone, and we look forward to supporting the project's continued ramp-up towards full 200 MW commercial operation."
