PureTech Health Wins 2026 Prix Galien USA Award in Incubators, Accelerators and Equity Category
Recognition highlights PureTech's differentiated model for identifying and advancing medicines through the creation of dedicated biotechnology companies
PureTech Health plc (LSE: PRTC) ("PureTech" or the "Company"), a hub-and-spoke biotherapeutics company dedicated to giving life to science and transforming innovation into value, today announced that it has won the 2026 Prix Galien USA Award for "Incubators, Accelerators and Equity." The award was presented at the 20th Annual Prix Galien USA Awards Ceremony on October 29, 2026, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. PureTech was honored for its model of identifying and de-risking therapeutic candidates and establishing dedicated companies to advance the most promising programs toward patients.
PureTech's approach is grounded in its LIFE (Launching Innovation From Existing Pharmacology) model, a systematic framework for identifying opportunities to unlock the potential of validated pharmacology, with a hub-and-spoke structure designed to advance those opportunities efficiently. As programs reach key value-inflection points, PureTech launches dedicated Founded Entities with their own leadership teams and attracts third-party investment to advance them. PureTech's approach has delivered an 80% clinical trial success rate and three FDA-approved therapeutics. Complementing this track record of clinical success, PureTech's hub-and-spoke model has enabled the creation of dedicated Founded Entities that have attracted more than $4 billion in third-party financing since 2018.
"We are honored to receive this recognition from the Galien Foundation, which is a testament to the vision and dedication of our team over more than two decades," said Robert Lyne, Chief Executive Officer of PureTech. "Our model was built on the belief that promising science deserves a path forward, even when traditional development approaches fall short. By combining our ability to unlock the potential of validated pharmacology with a model that brings together dedicated teams and external capital, we have created a portfolio spanning FDA-approved medicines, publicly traded companies, and early-stage programs. We are proud of what this approach has achieved and remain focused on translating innovative science into medicines that make a meaningful difference for patients."
About The Galien Foundation
The Galien Foundation fosters, recognizes, and rewards excellence in scientific innovation to improve human health. Its vision is to serve as a catalyst for the development of the next generation of treatments and technologies that will transform medical practice and save lives. Established in Paris in 1970 by Roland Mehl in honor of Galen, the father of medical science and modern pharmacology, the Prix Galien is widely regarded as the equivalent of the Nobel Prize in biopharmaceutical research.
Today, the Prix Galien operates through 18 chapters spanning more than 75 countries across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe. Expansion is currently underway in China, Singapore, and Australia.
In 2025, the Foundation launched the inaugural Prix Galien Bridges Forum and Awards Ceremony at the Nobel Forum in Stockholm, spanning Northern and Southern Europe, Israel, and the Middle East, and the first-ever Patient Summit for Prix Galien USA, reinforcing its commitment to science without borders.
The Nobel Prize and the Prix Galien share a common birthplace in Paris, where Alfred Nobel signed his last will and testament in 1895. However, while the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine recognizes up to three individuals for specific discoveries, the Prix Galien honors the collaborative spirit and multidisciplinary progress that define modern biopharmaceutical innovation.
