Skipton Building Society announced on 19 February 2026 the appointment of David Thomas as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective from 31 July 2026, subject to regulatory approval. Upon appointment, Mr. Thomas will become Chair of the Board Risk Committee, succeeding Denis Hall, who will step down from the Board at the end of July 2026. He will also join the Board Audit Committee and the Board Nominations Committee.

Skipton Appointments David Thomas as an Independent Non-Executive Director and
Chair of the Board Risk Committee
Skipton Building Society today announces the appointment of David Thomas as an Independent Non‑Executive Director. David will join the Board with effect from 31 July 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Upon appointment, David will become Chair of the Board Risk Committee, succeeding Denis Hall, who will step down from the Board at the end of July 2026. David will also join the Board Audit Committee and the Board Nominations Committee.
David brings over 40 years' experience across corporate, wholesale and retail banking, risk leadership, governance and regulation. A former Chief Risk Officer, he has chaired multiple bank board risk and audit committees and currently serves as Chair of Toronto Dominion Bank Europe Ltd and Non‑Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee at The West Bromwich Building Society, from which he will step down in July 2026.
David has extensive prudential risk expertise, having led major capital, liquidity and regulatory programmes in several systemically important financial institutions. David is also the Chair of trustees of the Harrogate Homeless Project, a charity dedicated to alleviating homelessness in the North Yorkshire area.
