Appointment of AIFM and Company Secretary

Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC (the 'Company') announces that with effect from 1 October 2021, Franklin Templeton Investment Trust Management Limited ("FTITML") has been appointed as the Company's AIFM and Company Secretary.  FTITML is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Global Investors Limited ("FTGIL"), which is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Resources, Inc., and as such can fully leverage the scale and depth of the Group's functions to fulfil these responsibilities. The appointment is in substitution for, and on materially the same commercial terms, as its existing AIFM agreement with Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC.
