Successful Pilot Project with Together Housing

Zenova Group PLC (AIM: ZED), a provider of innovative fire safety and heat management technology and products, is pleased to announce that Together Housing Association Limited ("Together Housing") selected its innovative Zenova IP thermal insulation paint for a pilot project. The aim of the pilot project was to enable Together Housing to assess Zenova IP thermal insulation paint's ability to insulate properties that are difficult to insulate using traditional methods of insulation.

Together Housing is one of the largest housing associations in the North of England and manages more than 36,000 homes across the region. It is a non-profit organisation, meaning any money it makes is invested back into the company for the benefit of its residents and local communities.

The pilot project took place in Halifax, West Yorkshire on properties which experience high energy bills throughout the year due to poor levels of insulation. Zenova IP thermal insulation paint was applied to internal and external walls, floors, and ceilings of the properties to provide an immediate upgrade in insulation, whilst also improving fire safety and decoration.

Now that the completed pilot project has demonstrated to Together Housing the benefit of Zenova IP thermal insulation paint in improving insulation in the properties, Zenova anticipates Zenova IP thermal insulation paint, and other products, will be used in Together Housing's properties where appropriate.

The pilot project is being funded through the Carbon Reduction strategy budget (decarbonisation fund) which is working towards net zero carbon across the property portfolio.

Patrick Berry, Together Housing's Director of Net Zero said: "We have quite a few properties that prove difficult to insulate and make more energy efficient and are we are always interested in cost efficient new ways of addressing the problem. The opportunity to pilot the Zenova insulating paint was a great opportunity to use an innovative solution to the energy efficiency problem. The data shows it has made a great difference to the property, helping to make it warm and affordable."

Zenova in partnership with Synetica deployed wireless air and surface temperature sensors.  The Together Housing property was monitored before and after installation of IP over several months.  The results show a huge improvement to the thermal comfort of the property.  The property was able to heat to desired temperature twice as quickly and retain the heat for twice as long.  This would massively reduce the heating costs for the tenant and the properties carbon footprint.

Commenting on the news, Tony Crawley, CEO of Zenova Group PLC said: "In Zenova IP thermal insulation paint we have a highly effective insulation product which is quick and easy to install and causes minimal disruption to residents.

"As well as dramatically improving the insulation of properties, Zenova IP thermal insulation paint also improves fire safety and provides a decorative upgrade. This makes it a hugely efficient and cost-effective way for social housing providers, such as Together Housing, to improve the energy efficiency, safety and decoration of a property in a single process.

"We look forward to working with Together Housing , now that we have a successful pilot, as we examine other ways that Zenova's range of products can help them upgrade fire safety and insulation across their wider estate of properties."

About Zenova Group PLC:

The Group, through Zenova Ltd, is the holder of intellectual property that underpins a suite of fire safety and temperature management products and technology. The product range is applicable to industrial, commercial, and residential markets. The Group's products include fire retardant paints, insulating paints and render, fire extinguishing fluid and applications. Through innovative development, and a refined formulation and development process, Zenova provides industry leading solutions across a range of fire protection and temperature management problems, comprising:

Zenova FP

A water-based fire-protection paint that prevents ignition and spread of fire. It can be used in commercial, industrial, and domestic applications on variety of materials, from wood to metal.

Zenova FX

Patent pending fire extinguisher filled with proprietary Zenova Fluid (Zenova FXB) that extinguishes all types of fires, reduces chances of re-ignition, works in cold (-15 ̊C) conditions, is non-toxic and does not produce harmful by-products.

Zenova IP

Thermal insulation paint that creates a thermal barrier, provides thermal reflection of sunrays and infrared radiation, anti-condensation, and anti-mould properties. It can be applied to virtually any exterior or interior material, regardless of the surface.

Zenova IR

Thermal insulation renders to enhance the effectiveness of insulation by creating a thermo shield. It fills all cavities and gaps regardless of geometric shape and creates a vacuum - the most effective insulator.

Zenova CS

Patent pending next generation ceiling sprinkler filled with proprietary Zenova Fluid (Zenova FXB) that removes the need to install large fluid tanks, piping, complicated equipment, and software. This sprinkler could be installed in the kitchen.

The Group has achieved this without compromising the sustainability of natural and economical resources, including personal health and safety, with ecologically sound products.
