Celtic PLC announced on 5 January 2026 the appointment of Martin O'Neill as Interim Manager until the end of the current season. Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham have been appointed as Assistants, with Stephen McManus also joining the existing coaching staff.

Martin O'Neill appointed as Interim Manager until the end of the season
Celtic can confirm that Martin O'Neill will be joining the Club as Interim Manager until the end of this season.
Martin will be supported by Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham as Assistants as well as Stephen McManus, who will join our existing coaches Gavin Strachan, Stevie Woods and Greg Wallace to oversee first team matters.
